Juju & The Boys go to the Bronx Zoo

Flashback Post:

Dear Julia,

One thing that I am going to try to do, is to go back and play catchup on areas of your life I can still look back on. Activities of your life that I captured in photos, but also in memories. Adventures that we go on together, that I can’t leave out of this journal to you.

A day that does come to mind recently is this past weekend when we went to the Bronx Zoo with Rosie, and her two boys Leandro and Andre. You were looking forward to seeing them for weeks, so we scheduled a time, and you gave The Boys a tour of the zoo.

From the get go you were on fire, when the arrived at our apartment and then the entire car ride into the Bronx. We could all tell that you were filled with excitement for a day at the zoo with The Boys.

As soon as we arrive you wanted to hold their hands and show them around. When you began to run ahead, they would not only catch you, but run by you, and then your much shorter legs were put into high gear trying to keep up.

We got to show The Boys snow leopards, grizzly brown bears, lions, and so much more. They even got to see a lion roar right in front of them, a big kitty putting on quite the show.

You went through some ups and downs though, but that is to be expected at 3.5 years old and having your energy levels go up and down. Plus, you were on sensory overload to start the day trying to keep up with both of them.

The most amazing part though is how much love you show to everyone. When you had a snack, you offered to share some. When you wanted them to see something, you politely asked for them to join you. When you wanted to play, you also made that very apparent.

You heart was so big and on display this day. And Rosie really does care for you very much. I am not sure what you do to everyone you meet, but they take to you very quickly, and everyone loves just being around your energy and smile. Even when you’re a little down, everyone still loves being around you, and knows that you will always be JuJu at the end of the day.

I love you Julia.

Daddy
